All the cars and vans are collected by one of our team members, free of charge. We will always provide you with the name and number of your allocated driver once you’ve accepted the quote we give you. Vehicles will always be paid for before they are loaded. Do you charge an administration fee, collection or cancellation?
There are no charges to the car seller, our service is free. the quoted price given to you is the price you get with no abstraction for collection, cancellation or administration.
Do you collect anywhere in the UK?
No, our business only covers parts of the North East. We only collect from the areas such as North Yorkshire, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Cleveland Teesside. Will I need an MOT Certificate?
No, an MOT Certificate is not needed.
Will I need to clean my car?
We are unable to dispose of materials such as household waste so any other waste must be removed from your vehicle. Besides removing waste from your car or van, please make sure that all personal belongings are also removed from your vehicle.
Do you accept caravans?
No, our company do not have the facilities or equipment available to disassemble caravans. We only works with vehicles such as cars or vans.
Do you accept bicycles?
We only specialise in vehicles, particularly in cars and vans and four-wheel drive.
Can I keep my number plate?
Yes, for an application form please refer to to the DVLA website. The DVLA website will also give you some more detailed information about this, prices start from £105 to retain the vehicle registration number for one year.
How do I scrap my car for cash?
At Scrap Cars North East we pay cash for your scrap car. Once you’ve accepted our scrap quote for your vehicle and decided to proceed with scrapping your car, we will allocate a named driver to your vehicle, you will also be given a direct telephone number for the driver. He will ensure that your paid for your vehicle before its collected. Your driver will collect your car on time making the process of it all as simple as possible.
Legal Obligation, Tax and Ownership
We will issue you with a receipt and section 9 of the V5C form which you need to post to the DVLA once we collect your vehicle. The DVLA should inform you that you are no longer the registered keeper within two weeks. If you don’t receive confirmation or any notification from them after this time give us a call and we will follow the matter up for you.
All scrap cars must be de- polluted at a treatment facility, once the dangerous materials have been removed from the vehicle a certificate of destruction will be issued and DVLA will be automatically notified.
